Fields of Research

Theory of Magnetism
Elaboration of the theories of:
- magnetic ordering and tunneling phenomena in inhomogeneous magnetic materials, reduced dimension systems, giant and colossal magnetoresistance;
- domain structures and their elements in feromagnetic systems with paramagnetic interlayer;
- atomic and magnetic ordering and influence of electron correlation, short- and long-range order on spectra of elementary excitations, transport phenomena, phase transformations and other properties of alloys and other disordered systems.

Modern Problems of Solid State Physics
- research of magnetic phase transformations and non equilibrium processes in strong frustrated magnetic systems on the basis of crystal and amorphous alloys of 3d-transitive metals;
- investigation of electron structure peculiarities of nano-crystal by the methods of tunel microscopy.

Single Crystal Growth
- synthesis and growth of crystals of minerals and compounds such as quartz, andalusite, magnetite etc., which are both of mineralogical and commercial interest;
- establishment of physical and chemical regularities appearing in the processes of dissolution and crystallization of minerals in hydrothermal environment and their application to study of mineral formation in nature;
- development and fabrication of high temperature and high pressure equipment.
